Dear Trail Rider,
The Pine Lake Saddle Club invites you to the 55th Annual All Day Ride on Sunday, October 1st, 2023. On Saturday, September 30th we are having a trail ride at 4:00p.m. the night before the All Day Ride with a potluck meal to follow. Please bring a dish to share, your own table service and we will provide a campfire. Camping is available but no electricity hook-up.
On Sunday, October 1st the ride will start promptly at 8:00a.m. Coffee, hot chocolate and donuts will be served from 7:00-8:00a.m. We will leave at 8:00a.m. so please be on time. Wrist bands will be issued to each rider. You may pick them up along with your lunch tickets that morning. We will start the ride at 17756 TT Ave Steamboat Rock, IA 50672. We ride up and down hills and through the Iowa River a few times and have lunch at the Steamboat Rock Boat Club. The afternoon ride will include a pop break. Each rider will be given one can. You should arrive back at the starting point at approximately 5:00p.m.
The cost of this event is as follows: Adults: non-member $20.00, members $15.00 and children under the age of 11 are $7.00.
Reservations are necessary to ride and eat. You need to pay in advance. For those who don’t want the dinner (trust me, you do) there will be a charge of $10.00 per rider. Please be responsible and pay this fee. For those joining us at noon, please pay your $10.00 to a club member wearing a green P. L. S. C. vest. There is a lot of work and time that goes into this ride; this small fee helps cover these expenses. Sorry, there are no refunds. The ride does have a rain date to be determined. This decision will be made by the Hardin County Conservation Board if it is too wet the week before.
Please return reservations for the ride to: Marilyn Reinertson 25043 Co Hwy S75 Eldora, IA 50627 no later than September 23rd, 2023. OR you can pay online at pinelakesaddleclub.org. The Pine Lake Saddle Club and land owners are not responsible for any accidents or injuries. Please ride wisely, safely and make an effort to keep up with the group. Those lagging behind will be excused from the ride. We ask that you refrain from using alcoholic beverages on the ride and please, absolutely no littering. No dogs are allowed on the ride. Campers must clean up litter at the campsite. Just a few more need to knows: When riding on the trails please leave adequate room between horses, so the chance of getting kicked is minimal. If you know your horse may kick….please put a red ribbon on it’s tail! Please make sure your saddle is tight, as there are multiple hills that we climb.
Please stay on the trail and behind the leader. We want to keep our landowners happy. So, spread the word to your friends and be sure to have your reservations in by September 23rd! We hope to see you on both Saturday, September 30th for the ride/potluck/campout and Sunday, October 1st for the All Day Ride.
Thank you from your friendly PLSC-Board members!
Attention saddle club members: We would like each member to furnish a pie or dessert for the dinner. You may bring them to the pasture or the Boat Club. Please mark your containers so they can be returned after the ride. For more information call Lucas Smith 515-689-8855.
